What does Wipe and Reinstall Mean
Most computer problems
aren't computer problems at all. They are software problems. Some of these can be repaired with patches and updates or removing
the offending software and reinstalling. Many of them cannot. In this case we try to choose the most economical fix. Erasing
the hard drive and reinstalling all software is just that. If you have been making backups of your files and you keep
track of you software reinstallation cd's or downloads and licenses we can do this very economically and quickly.
When we do this it erases EVERYTHING ON THE COMPUTER!! This includes windows, your pictures, your programs, your emails,
your viruses and anything else you have created, downloaded or installed in the computer. ALL OF IT WILL BE GONE.
In order for us to reinstall, we will need your original restore disk(s) or windows CD and license code. We will also need
your application software (office, works, word, excel, etc..). Contrary to popular belief these programs don't come as part
of windows. Somewhere you bought or borrowed a copy of most of the software on your system. If you bought it then you should
create a file and keep track of it. No we can't just install our copy. If you borrowed it, then shame on you and you
will have to buy it now.
The bottom line is if you backup you data, keep track of your software and keep it legal
you will save time and money in the long run on cost to maintain your computer.
